Roshan's Blog: Morning Sickness
1/4/10Luckily, I didn’t really experience much morning sickness during my 3 pregnancies. I did have periodic waves of nausea at random times of the day – often triggered by the odors of certain foods but this usually ended by the end of the first trimester.
I remember eating small, frequent snacks such as crackers and drinking or chewing anything I could get my hands on that had ginger in it – which always worked to settle my stomach. I also avoided brushing my teeth immediately after getting up in the morning because for some reason that often brought on that awful feeling.
Even though I was so excited to be pregnant, the feeling of nausea would make me wonder what I had got myself into. And why is it called Morning Sickness when it comes on at random?! Anyway, I knew the small bouts of nausea were because of an increase in the hormone progesterone and that was a good thing as it would help me carry a baby to term. So like all of us moms, I patiently waited and counted the weeks until I started my second trimester knowing that I would probably feel better and more energized too.
Thankfully that was a long time ago! And thankfully today, there are safe and natural products like Morning Sickness Magic that can really make pregnancy much more enjoyable.
